If you’re wondering which is the best Bluetooth headset For construction workers, then read on to find out more!

Life as a construction worker can be taxing on the body and ears with long hours and constant loud noise from construction equipment. I’ve been working in home construction for a while now and I’ve found it quite relieving to listen to music while I get things done. Listening to high and low frequencies of machine sounds can take a heavy toll on your body and mind.

I used to wear the earphones I got with my phone but they lacked the ear enclosure to cancel out the construction noise surrounding me and made it difficult to listen to my favorite tunes and answer calls for updates on the construction.

I got a chance to check out some of the new headsets that had excellent noise cancellation and were comfortable to wear. I shortlisted my favorites that I think you should definitely check out if you are into construction or doing a month-long facelift to your current home.

So let’s get started with the Best Bluetooth Headset for Construction Workers.

Headphones for Construction Workers – Buyer’s Guide

In the field of construction, there can be so many different locations with different noise levels. Whatever the situation, having your ears completely enclosed with in-ears or closed over-ear headphones should be the first thing to look out for.

Active noise canceling should be your second, which is available on most headsets, this will help you have a clear conversation between you and the person on the other end.

Finally, the headsets you choose should be rugged and comfortable to use for long periods of time. It’s essential that you choose a pair of headsets that have foam padding over leather as it’s helps keep the ears cool and also a headset that offers ‘single touch controls’ as it’s easier to navigate and control the device especially when you’re operating heavy machinery.

How we rated these Bluetooth headsets for construction workers

We put over 30 different Bluetooth headsets through different tests to determine which ones are ideal for construction workers. Each headset was tested to see if they offer good noise cancelling capabilities since they’re going to be used primarily by construction workers, who generally operate heavy and loud machines on a daily basis.

Next we tested the battery life and checked if the headsets are designed to last for upwards of 10-12 hours. Since you’re not going to have all the time in the world to charge your headsets, it’s only logical to use a headset that lasts more than a single shift.

Finally we tested the headsets for whether they are waterproof or not. While a handful of headsets on this list don’t offer water resistance, they compensate with either built-in ANC or that they have a god battery life. Some headsets even come with all three features, which is amazing.

ISOtunes

The last set of Bluetooth headsets I have for you are from the new brand ISO called tunes. It comes in a sturdy case with vibrant color options that are noticeable to anyone, giving you a stylish yet rugged look.

The in-ears offer excellent noise-cancellation that has a reduction of 22 decibels that are compliant with OSHA and NIOSH. This means even if you’re next to a power drill that puts out 120 decibels of noise it will be reduced to a comfortable level that will protect your ears from noise damage.

It provides 8 hours of battery backup with three full tops of charge from the case giving you a total of close to 24 hours of the back. The headsets comes to a full charge in just 1.5 hours and the case comes to a full charge in 2 hours.

Pros

  • Blocks sound from heavy power tools
  • Long lasting 7-hour battery life
  • IP45 water resistance

Which are the Best Bluetooth Headset For Construction Workers

Best Affordable Bluetooth Headset

The first set of Bluetooth headset I have on my list is from the brand Audio-Technica that stands out for being affordable with exceptional audio quality and noise cancellation. It has an in-ear design that blocks out most of the construction noise when in the field.

The Bluetooth headset provides excellent robust bass with clear and crisp highs making it my top choice for construction workers. The unit also provides excellent battery life that lasts an entire day close to 15 hours from a single charge removing the need for you to charge it through your day in the field and with the case it will last 45 hours.

The headset lacks noise-cancellation but thanks to the in-ear design it blocks out most of the sound by itself and with the music on you don’t hear any of the construction noise.

Pros

  • Comfortable to use
  • Excellent battery life

Sony WH1000XM3

If you aren’t a fan of in-ears or one-sided headsets, this beast from Sony is what you should look out for. With the amazing build quality and out-of-the-world noise cancellation, these are without doubt one of my favorites on my list.

The reason for it to be in the 6th place is because of the price tag that falls very well on the expensive side. But what it offers you unmatched sound quality with an overall battery life of a whopping 30 hours with Active noise cancellation none of the above headsets provide this level of performance.

Some of the unique features are that you can turn on noise cancellation without music running. Perfect for a moment of silence to get your head together. It is fitted with a QN1 processor that offers the best noise cancellation in the field.

  • Ideal for loud and noisy environments
  • Durable and well built

Sony WF-1000XM3

Here is another in-ear-designed Bluetooth headset from the infamous brand Sony, the WF-1000MX3 made it to my list for its amazing sound quality and balanced performance across different genres.

It provides a decent battery life of 24-hours that can a whole day of use and a little more which I found most construction workers will find good enough.

Unlike the Audio-Technica ATH-CKS5TWBK, the Sony WF-1000XM3 comes with active noise-canceling that I road-tested in the field and provided excellent results. But the downside is that with active noise-canceling the headset lasted only six hours.

To back the low battery life with noise cancellation Sony provided the quick charge feature that can provide the earbuds with 90 mins listening in just 10 mins of charge time.

One of the really cool features I found was the adaptive sound control through the app from Sony that helps adjust the background noise to a comfortable allowing you to be aware of your surroundings while you’re listening to your favorite tunes.

Which are the Best Bluetooth Headset For Construction Workers

Pros

  • Built-in Active Noise Cancellation
  • Decent 24 hour battery life
  • Cuts out all external sounds
  • Great for music and calls

Cons

  • Battery could have been better

Jabra Steel

Jabra is a fairly new brand but has taken the market by storm with its amazing line of headsets and speakers. One headset that really stood out to me was the Jabra Steel which was designed keeping the everyday construction worker in mind.

These headsets were made to be rugged and designed to take a beating against dust and sand during construction and are also resistant to water damage. It has excellent noise cancellation that offers amazing clarity while taking calls and eliminates 90 percent of all background noise.

On the downside, It provides a battery backup of only 6 hours that I felt is the lowest on my list but made up for it with its excellent build quality.

Pros

  • Extremely durable
  • Removes 90% background noise
  • Water resistant

Cons

  • Low 6-hour battery life
  • Available as a single unit

Rating: 4/5

Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless

Another headset for the people who don’t like in-ears are the premium Sennheiser PXC 550 Bluetooth headset. These are excellent headsets that come at a fairly decent price for the quality it offers.

It has aggressive noise-cancellation that makes it a godsend in the construction site called NoiseGard which is exclusive with the Sennheiser series of headsets. Even the microphone is of excellent quality offering crisp and clear speech to the listener.

It comes with a touch sensor on the side that helps pause and resume music with a simple double-tap on the side.

It provides a battery backup of 30 hours with active noise cancellation from a single charge which is quite impressive.

The sound quality is top-notch with a frequency response from as low as 17hz to 23,000 Hz covering the main range for most genres of music.

  • Comfortable to wear for long periods of time
  • Aggressive ANC
  • Touch sensors

Jabra Wave

Here is another Bluetooth headset from Jabra that isn’t as rugged as the Jabra Steel but stands out for a whole bunch of other reasons that makes it a great headset for construction workers.

This headset is excellent for construction managers who are on calls most of the time with different teams on the construction site. Though it lacks active noise canceling it still provides excellent sound quality and eliminates background noise and unwanted sounds by itself with the quality speakers and mic installed in the unit.

It provides a battery backup of eight hours from a single charge, not the best but the price it comes in makes it worth it.

The large yet light design makes it comfortable to wear under your hard hat throughout the day without a problem.

Pros

  • Built-in mic and speakers help block out noise
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Low battery performance
  • No noise cancelling capabilities
  • Not water resistant

Rating: 3.5/5

Which is Better?

All of the above Bluetooth headsets stand out in their own unique way, but I found the ISOtunes the best when it comes to noise reduction as I can were my soundproof headset over the in-ears giving me maximum noise isolation. These are the best to use on a construction site.
