The first thing I look for in DJ headphones is the build quality and the material used, you know you’re going to take the headphones on and off a hundred times while performing at your gig. High-quality plastic material with strong metal frame support will last you years.
Most top brands like Sennheiser and Pioneer provide this level of quality, the next thing you should look out for is the noise cancellation so the ears are isolated to the track of your mixing to make sure you can adjust the BPM and pitch for a good mix.
The last would be to see if the headphones have the ability to rotate the driver making it easy to have a quick reference of the track without the need to put on the entire headphones. Which can be a hassle at times if you’re mixing loops on the fly.Â

The first DJ headphones I have on my list is the Sennheiser HD 25 Pro, some of my top DJing idols use these magnificent headphones. At first, when you look at it, you’ll find the structure of the headband and body quite unique compared to the traditional headphones making it stand from the time you lay eyes on them.Â
The material used to make the headphone and earbuds is not great when it comes to durability so you can’t use them for too long. The good part is that you can find the earbuds and frames sold separately so you can change them for longer use.
These headphones work amazingly well in a club environment with excellent noise cancellation with high-quality sound making it easy to cue and mix tracks in any club setting. It comes with a two-year warranty making sure you get your money’s worth.Â

V-MODA Crossfade M-100
I have to say these are one of the most good-looking DJ headphones for the lot. The V-Moda CrossFade has been used by some of the top DJs in the EDM scene. From Tiesto to Hardwell you can see them use their custom V-Moda DJ headphones with custom metal side shields with the artist logo.
When it comes to body and build, the headphones feel heavy and solid, this is because of the sturdy metal frame used to make the headphones. The drivers encased in the metal frame are tuned by some of the industry’s best audiophiles providing you with the perfect DJ headphones experience to take it on road with you when touring.
These are perfect for intermediate DJ and professionals but coming just under $100 they might not be the best headphones to start off with.
Compared to the Sennheiser HD25, I would still go for the HD25 for its lightweight as the heavyweight from the metal frame of the V-MODA can cause more fatigue. Hence it secured second place in my book.Â

Audio-Technica ATH-M50X
The latest ATH-M50X from Audio Technica has gone through a major facelift in terms of design and sound quality. When I checked out the previous version the sound lacked the impact to be used in a club environment but the new edition had better sound isolation so the mids and highs automatically shined making it easier to mix.
The feel of the headphones when holding it felt a lot more sturdier with metal frame support visible to the eye. The earpads feel really comfortable as they are made of velvet, a really nice touch added by Audio-Technica.Â

Pioneer DJ HDJ-X7-KÂ
Pioneer released the HDJ-X7-K with a lot of inspiration taken from the HDJ-2000MK2, The huge 50mm driver felt really comfortable and powerful when wearing them but it lacked the impact that the above headphones had. The body is made of high-quality plastic which gives its lightweight but felt the frame could break if used in a harsh manner.
They provide a comfortable fit covering the complete ears offering excellent noise cancellation and comfortable for long hours of use. These headphone checked all my boxes when tested in a club environment but lacked the sturdiness the above DJ headphones offered.Â

Shure SRH750DJ
The Shure SRH750DJ made it to my list for being one of the most sturdy headphones in the market. The large 50mm driver with extra-large ear pads offered excellent comfortable and sound isolation when I road-tested it in a club.
The overall build and feels of these headphones were good but can feel a little tight over the head when putting on both ear cups. But when using a single side it held its place and felt rock steady which was great when mixing between two CDJs without them falling off.Â
I felt the headphones were overpriced at $149, I could definitely find a better pair of DJ headphones with a metal frame for cheaper. But these headphones reminded me of the classic technics headphones which are now discontinued. So if you’re a fan of the RP-DH1200 DJ these headphones are the closest to it when it comes to feel and design.

Well designed, lightweight DJ headphones that are meant specifically for listening and monitoring music. It’s quite overpriced but if you want something that has some crazy levels of comfort, these are the ones to buy.
Oneodio Pro 10
The Oneodio Pro 10 is an excellent pair of headphones for beginners as they come with a comfortable price tag of $28, the most affordable headphones on my list.Â
The headphones have large 50mm drivers that offer crisp clear high and mids with good deep bass for a refreshing experience. But when used in a club environment I felt the noise cancellation could be better as I found it a little difficult to hear the mids of the songs as they weren’t able to get through.
The build quality is good for the price it comes in but has to be treated with care as it doesn’t give confidence when it comes to sturdiness. You get two headphone cords with the headphones on with a mic and 3.5mm jacks on both ends and a durable thick coiled red wire with a 5.5mm jack at one end and 3.5mm on the other to help you connect it to a DJ mixer.
Overall I felt these headphones are good for beginners who are on a tight budget but want something that does the job while keeping it stylish.Â

Simply because they’re affordable. I’m kidding, these headphones are actually some of the best budget friendly DJ-grade headphones we’ve had the opportunity to review. They were amazing in terms of sound quality, durability and even the design.
Numark HF125
Numark has been known for making excellent Midi controllers and DJ equipment, the Numar HF 125 is a good set of DJ headphones for beginners and the brand is focused on keeping it simple with decent quality sound in place.Â
I would still prefer the Oneodio Pro 10 over the Numark HF 125 as it has larger drivers with better impact and noise cancellation, the Numark has 40mm drivers with decent noise cancellation but I noticed a lot of sounds leaking into the headphones when in a club environment. But the HF 125 definitely has the better build quality and feels way more sturdy compared to the Oneodio.

Technics EAH-DJ1200-K
If you’re really looking for a pair of vintage classic headphones that have been used by some of the best in the industry from the likes of Carl Cox, Fedde le grand, and many more. The Technics EAH DJ1200 is the pinnacle of DJ headphone design, noise cancellation, and robust sound.
These headphones were released over a decade and still hold great value among veteran DJ’s who still prefer mixing vinyl. Though the driver is small their dynamic impact makes it very easy to pick up the baseline when mixing tracks.
One of my favorite parts of this DJ headphone is the ability to fold the driver to a 120-degree angle. So you don’t have to put on the complete headphones to cue your song, just tilt your head to the left or right to listen to the cue. This feature is patented by the brand and is quite proud of it.
